PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable quicker processing in determining positions by using GPS. SOLUTION: From a base station 31, satellite capture information that specifies a GPS satellite within a visible area from the position of the base station is repeatedly transmitted using a control channel. A cellular phone 10 receives and stores the satellite capture information from the base station 31, and this enables the constant preparation of positioning-assisting information necessary for positioning by a GPS terminal 20. When a user operates the GPS terminal 20 to instruct navigation, the cellular phone 10 transmits the stored satellite capture information to the GPS terminal 20 in response to a request from the GPS terminal 20, and the GPS terminal 20 uses this satellite capture information to perform positioning.
