PURPOSE: An apparatus for sealing a rotation shaft of a water pump is provided to increase the driving torque and a durability by dispersing and reducing the frictional resistance between members generating slip. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for sealing a rotation shaft(3) of a water pump(1) comprises a rotation shaft fixing part(7) fixed to the rotation shaft of the water pump to be rotated with the rotation shaft of the water pump, a ring-shaped ceramic rotation body(8) rotated with the rotation shaft fixing part, a ring-shaped carbon fixing body contacted with the ceramic rotation body to be slid with the ceramic rotation body, a bearing body fixing part(10) fixing the carbon fixing body, a rubber sealing body(11) sealing a leaked coolant which is passed the carbon fixing body, and a support spring(12) applying a force to make the carbon fixing body contact to the ceramic rotation body by interposing the rubber sealing body, wherein an idle rotation body(17) is interposed between the ceramic rotation body and the carbon fixing body and is slidably contact with the ceramic rotation body and the carbon fixing body for relative movement.
