PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lightweight and precise guide rod usable even in an adverse environment and a cross roller guide by use of the guide rod. SOLUTION: A V-shaped groove 2 of the guide rod 1 is formed in the longitudinal direction of a square rod made of ceramics composed of aluminium oxide (alumina), silicon nitride, and a sintered substance bearing zirconia. The cross roller guides 27 are held on a holder 10 at every specified interval and disposed in a mutually crossing state at right angles and has many rollers 8, 9 made of ceramics rolling within the V-shaped groove 2.
