PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk driver in which an open button is arranged on a top cover to improve the operability of the driver. SOLUTION: The driver has a pickup module in which a disk is rotatively driven to reproduce information, a cabinet which constitutes of an outside frame, a top cover on which an operation button is arranged, an open switch which detects the depression of the button, an open detection switch which detects the opening and closing condition of the top cover and a control means which conducts a releasing control of the cover. When the releasing control of the cover is to be conducted, the releasing control is performed while a prescribed time is passed after the top cover closing is detected by the open detection switch.
