A waist-worn inflatable buoyancy aid consists of a cylindrical double-walled bag worn with a belt around the pelvic region of the body. The bag is made of sea-water resistant and is inflated automatically on contact with water to form a case around the body. The open ends around the feet and head are closed by sheet material.
