<p>A magnetron arrangement in which a magnetron 1 is coupled through a transmission line, such as a waveguide 3, to a first filter 4 for causing an electromagnetic wave in a main oscillation frequency band of the magnetron to pass and for blocking an electromagnetic wave in a predetermined band. The transmission line includes absorbing means 7 for absorbing part or all of power of the electromagnetic wave in the frequency band which is blocked by the first filter 4. The Q value of a resonance in a spurious mode can decrease so that it is possible to implement a magnetron arrangement to be operated stably. The filter 4 is a low pass filter and a second filter 5 is provided which is a high pass filter so as to allow the frequency band which is blocked by the first filter 4 to pass to the absorbing means 7. A further aspect includes the first filter 4 and second filter constituted by a dielectric (9, Figs 4, 7, 9 and 10) and a screw stub (10) coupled to the transmission line by a coupling window 8. The magnetron may be coupled via a T branch (Figs 6 and 7). A coupling window (16, Fig 8) may couple the transmission line to a choke circuit (17) and the absorbing means 7. The second filter constituted by the dielectric (9) and screw stub (10) and choke filter (17) may be added to the arrangement having the power absorber 7 (Fig 11).</p> |
