A harvesting equipment (1) for harvesting corn or similar stalk plants, said harvesting equipment (1) comprises at least a chain of links (4; 5) provided with retaining means (17; 18) for the harvested plants (3), said chain comprises a working side (4a; 5a) which can, in operation, be transversely moved relative to the forward movement (F) of the harvesting equipment (1), characterized in that, the harvesting equipment is so designed that the length (T) of a link (14; 15) of the chain (4; 5), measured in the rotating direction (U1; U2), corresponds substantially to a whole sub-multiple of a normalized distance separating two rows (3a) of plants cultivated in standardized manner. 2. The equipment according to claim 1, characterized in that the normalized width separating two rows (3) corresponds to a fourfold length (T) of the chain links, measured in the rotating direction (U1; U2). 3. The harvesting equipment for harvesting corn or similar stalk plants, said harvesting equipment (1) comprises at least a chain of links (4; 5) provided with retaining means (17; 18) for the harvested plants (3), said chain comprises a working side (4a; 5a) which can, in operation, be transversely moved relative to the forward movement (F) of the harvesting equipment (1) according to one of claims 1 or 2, characterized in that the chain links (14; 15) are provided with cutting means (16) and/or retaining means (17; 18) as unified functional elements. 4. The harvesting equipment according to claim 3, characterized in that the functional elements (14; 15) comprise at least three planes (S; H1; H2), of which the lower plane (S) works as a cutting plane, and the two parallel overlying planes (H1; H2) work as retaining planes of harvested plants (3). 5. The harvesting equipment according to one of claims 3 or 4, characterized in that the functional elements (14; 15) boarder directly upon each other. 6. The harvesting equipment according to one of claims 3 to 5, characterized in that the functional elements (14; 15) comprise, when in operation, substantially vertically-deflecting screens repeating the length (T) of the chain links (14; 15) measured in the rotating direction (U1; U2). 7. The harvesting equipment according to one of claims 3 to 5, characterized in that the functional elements (14; 15) are interconnected at their distal and proximal ends by a hinged axes (19; 20) in the direction of rotation, and the bodies (19a) of the hinged axes (19; 20) are tightly embraced by cylinder-like elements (20a). 8. The harvesting equipment according to one of claims 6 or 7, characterized in that the deflecting screens (21; 22) extend between the hinged axes (19; 20) substantially completely. 9. The harvesting equipment according to one of claims 6 to 8, characterized in that one deflecting screen (21) is arranged between the cutting plane (S) and overlying retaining plane (H1), while the other deflecting screen (22) is between said retaining plane (H1) and the upper retaining plane (H2). 10. The harvesting equipment according to claim 9, characterized in that the upper deflecting screen (22) is shifted relative to the lower deflecting screen (21) against the direction of movement (F).
