PURPOSE: A disk cartridge and a device for clamping a disk contained in the same are provided to reduce the thickness of the disk cartridge by transforming a disk into the upper direction. CONSTITUTION: A disk cartridge(30) includes the upper and lower cases forming a space rotatively containing a disk having a clamper(40) to be secured at a spindle motor, a shutter(35) opening and shutting an aperture formed at the upper and lower cases to be accessed by a disk drive device, an edge part(33a) formed from a surface of the lower case to the disk following a circumference of the aperture formed at the lower case, so that the edge part pushes the clamper to be separated from the spindle motor when the disk cartridge is being unloaded.
