PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a television receiver which never causes interference (radio interference) such as intermodulation interference with a digital broadcasting channel as a television receiver for analog broadcast reception. SOLUTION: When an automatic channel setting key constituting an operation key 58 is operated, a CPU 60 sequentially selects all channels 1ch to 62ch to decide whether each channel is used for analog broadcasting, i.e., a station is available. If the channels 13ch to 32ch allocated to digital broadcasting channels are all not available, the CPU 60 recognizes that digital broadcasting is already started over them and turns on a trap circuit 68. When one of the 13ch to 32ch is an available station channel, the CPU 60 recognizes that the digital broadcasting is not started yet and turns off the trap circuit 68. Consequently, the frequency components of the 13ch to 32ch are attenuated by turning on the trap circuit 68 and the influence of inter modulation interference talk, cross modulation disturbance, or neighboring channel interference caused by a digital broadcasting channel can be eliminated.
