PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure safety by certainly earthing a rotary atomizer, to which high voltage of an electrostatic coating apparatus is applied, by an earthing means when the supply of high voltage power is stopped in order to perform maintenance or the like. SOLUTION: One end of the wiring cable led out of a DC high voltage generator 32 is arranged up to the vicinity of the rotary atomizer arranged in a coating booth 14 by wiring and one end of an earthing conductor 37 arranged from an earthed point is provided up to the vicinity of the rotary atomizer by wiring. The conductors connected to the electrodes 28 and 29 of the rotary atomizer in the coating booth 14 are changed over toward the wiring cable to be connected thereto by changeover switches 31 and 35 when electrostatic coating work is performed by the rotary atomizer and further changed over to the earthing conductor 37 to be connected thereto and earthed when work is performed with respect to the rotary atomizer to allow the charge of the electrodes 28 and 29 to escape to ensure safety. |
