PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition for outer skin, which contains ascorbic acid, its ester derivative, its ether derivative or their salts as an active ingredient, and in which the active ingredient can effectively exerts its action on skin. SOLUTION: Water and glycol ethers are used as a substrate for the composition for outer skin. The composition for outer skin contains i) one selected from a group of ascorbic acid, its ester derivative, its ether derivative, or their salts, ii) water, and iii) glycol ethers.
