PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tufted carpet having antibacterial property excellent in durability and a method for manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: A ground fabric for a tufted carpet consists of a nonwoven fabric containing an adhered antibacterial agent having a molecular weight of 200-700, a value of inorganic property/organic property in the range of 0.3-1.4, and an average particle diameter of <=3μm.
