<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automotive air bag device improved in a pressure resistance properties against the pressing load to the surface panel and absorbing the difference in thermal expansion or shrinkage to be generated between the burst opening part of a surface panel and its reinforcing plate, and an external force acting on the burst opening part of the surface panel. SOLUTION: The automotive air bag device 40 has an air bag 41, an air bag supporting member 42, and reinforcing plates members 44, 45 for frame members 43 and the burst opening part 30. The reinforcing plate members 44, 45 are divided into a plurality of reinforcing pieces 441, 451, the ends of which are connected to the frame members 43 by the respective hinge extending margins 442, 452 so that the air bag 41 can be displaced from a closed state to a state to be expanded. Stretchable pieces 443, 453 curved in U-shape respectively interconnect between the adjacent reinforcing pieces 441, 441 and between the reinforcing pieces 451, 451 on the other end sides of the respective reinforcing pieces 441, 451.</p> |
