PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ash material for glaze of pottery capable of supplying much ashes with stable chemical property as a glaze raw material of pottery and promoting effective use of ashes of coffee, and a method for manufacturing the ash material for glaze. SOLUTION: Ashes of coffee 1 are fired in a rotary kiln 2 at a temperature of 600 to 750 deg.C and a rotary speed 30 to 45 revolutions per minute of a rotary furnace (kiln) 8 (A). Then, the ashes of coffee grounds are closely sealed in a drum can (a steel can) 3 and aged for 35 to 45 hours (B), and at the last, the aged coffee ashes are pulverized to 90 to 250μm to obtain the ash materials for glaze 5.
