PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a material suitable for a decorative article and the like, light-weighted and having high impact strength by forming a primary coat on the surface of an expanded polystyrene and applying a synthetic resin thereon. SOLUTION: The coating method comprises forming a substrate layer by applying an acrylic emulsion on the surface of an expanded polystyrene 1, arranging an impregnated sheet thereon, applying a urethane resin further thereon, drying and solidifying.
