PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a unit to lengthen life of a patient infected by a retrovirus such as HIV, HBV, HCV, HTLV-1, HTLV-2, PERV, etc., or disordered in the liver function (liver failure) or in the kidney function (kidney failure). SOLUTION: Blood taken out from a human body is separated into a blood cell (blood corpuscle) component and a plasma component by a plasma separator 3 before only the separated plasma component is injected into an artificial lever 31 to pass through hollow fiber 32 whose outside is tightly filled with a hashed lever cell 10 of a different kind of animal, a pig. The lever cell 10 of a different kind of animal filled in the artificial lever 31 and the plasma component are intervened by the hollow fiber 32 and brought in contact with each other to decompose waste products excreted from a human body. After making the lever cell 10 synthesize various kinds of protein, hormone, amino acid, etc., the plasma component of a human body is passed immediately before returning to the human body through an ultrasonic generator 6 to inactivate retroviruses such as PERV, etc., or other viruses carried by the different kind of animal. |
