PURPOSE:To prevent useless treatment by stopping twofold envelope preparing action in the case of judging all the documents being fed longitudinally in a device for folding cover recording paper after image formation in two and enclosing normal recording paper in the cover recording paper after opening and storing the cover recording paper. CONSTITUTION:Cover recording paper conveyed in from a receiving port 9 from the copying machine side is first conveyed onto the path 7a side by folding rollers 13a, 13b and position-regulated by a stop roller 17. In the flexure generated state, the middle part of the cover recording paper is held between the folding rollers 13b, 13c so as to be folded in two, and the twofold cover recording paper is led to the path 7b side and discharged successively into plural bins 3 of a sorter part 2. Upon the termination of discharge of the specified stage number, a lift bar 40 is moved up to open each cover recording paper, and normal recording paper is successively enclosed in each cover recording paper. In this case, the document feed direction is judged. In the case of all the documents are fed longitudinally, normal recording paper cannot be inserted, so that the above-mentioned envelope preparing action is stopped.
