PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an assembly device and an assembly method for an electron gun capable of improving assembly accuracy of the electron gun without compressing the fitting tolerance between an electrode constituting the electron gun and an assembling jig. SOLUTION: This assembly device for the electron gun is used to define the relative positions of the respective electrodes G when assembling the electron gun provided with the plural electrodes G having passing holes HR and HB with the passing holes HR and HB of the respective electrodes G arranged at a predetermined interval so as to coincide with each other. The device has shaft parts 13 and 14 erected on a base, having a shape capable of being inserted into the passing holes HR and HB, and provided with reference surfaces 13sa and 14sa adaptable to the inside circumferences of the passing holes HR and HB. The shaft members 13 and 14 are deformed by heating with the respective passing holes HR and HB of the plural electrodes G fitted onto the shaft members 13 and 14, so that the reference surfaces 13sa and 14sa can be moved to reference positions for defining the positions of the respective passing holes HR and HB.
