PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a yellow azomethine dye excellent in hue, color developing properties and light fastness, and particularly having a high molecular light absorption coefficient, and a new dye-forming coupler capable of forming the dye, and to provide a silver halide color photographic sensitive material containing at least one of the dye-forming coupler. SOLUTION: The dye-forming coupler is represented by general formula (I). The azomethine dye is obtained from the dye-forming coupler. The silver halide color photographic sensitive material contains at least one of the dye- forming coupler. In general formula (I), Q is a residue necessary for forming a seven-membered ring; R is a substituent group; Y is a substituted aryl group; and X is a hydrogen atom or a group eliminable by a reaction with an oxidation product of a developing agent.
