PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a Doppler speedometer which is low-cost and whose reliability and life are enhanced when the speed of a moving object or the speed of a particle is measured on the basis of Doppler's principle. SOLUTION: A luminous flux which is emitted from a light source 10 composed of an LED is branched into two beams by a light diffraction element 12 so as to be converged on a specimen S by a condenser lens 13 which fulfills the function of a convergent lens. When the specimen S is moved, scattered light reflected by the face of the specimen S is subjected to the Doppler effect. When the scattered light is received so as to be signal-processed, the movement speed of the specimen S can be detected. |
