PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the stripe void of an image caused by removed powder that adhesive material such as an electrification product adhering to an electrifying device 2 is removed in an image forming apparatus having an electrification cleaning stage for cleaning the electrifying device 2 and an adhesive and fused material eliminating stage for eliminating an image defect caused by the electrification product and the adhesion of developer on an image carrier 1. SOLUTION: Even when the removed material produced in the electrification cleaning stage drops onto the image carrier 1, the dropped material is rapidly removed by the succeeding adhesive and fused material eliminating stage by operating the adhesive and fused material eliminating stage concurrently and synchronously with the electrification cleaning state, whereby the excellent image forming apparatus free from the image defect such as the stripe void of the image caused by the removed material from the electrifying device 2 is provided. |
