PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermoplastic resin composition for electric wire coating or sheath which has excellent flame retardancy especially by shape maintenance in combustion and has excellent mechanical strengths and thermal properties, and is of advantage to separation from polyvinyl chloride resin, and an electric wire using it. SOLUTION: The thermoplastic resin composition used to electric wire coating or sheath contains a thermoplastic resin of 100 pts.wt., a phyllosilicate of 0.1-100 pts.wt., and a flame retardant assistant of 0.1-20 pts.wt. The flame retardant assistant is one selected from a group consisting of a carbon black, a fluororesin, a silicone oil, and a silicone-acrylic composite rubber. |
