<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly versatile stand-up assistant device for a chair, capable of assisting a seated person in standing up without complicating the structure. <P>SOLUTION: A seat part 4 includes: a fixed part 4A coupled to a pedestal 2 via a hinge 3 fixed to the front end of the pedestal 2; and a movable part 4B supported to the fixed part 4A via a sliding mechanism 5 in such a way as movable in a direction orthogonally crossing the axis of the hinge 3. The stand-up assistant device further includes: a main damper means 11 whose proximal end is rotatably connected to the pedestal 2 and whose distal end is rotatably connected to the movable part 4B of the seat part respectively for cushioning the impact applied to the seat part 4; and an auxiliary spring 12 provided between the fixed part 4A and the movable part 4B for energizing the distal end of the movable part 4B toward the fixed part 4A in a direction of approaching the hinge 3.
