PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data transmission method and device that can efficiently transmit an optical signal based on serial data forming a digital video signal in number of quantization bits of 10 bits or more in two-way by using optical signal transmission cables in order to minimize number of the signal transmission cables. SOLUTION: The serial data based on a D-Cinema signal in number of quantized bits of 10 bits or more from a camera section 10 are converted into an optical signal, the optical signal is transmitted through an optical signal transmission cable 41 by way of a two-way WDM(wavelength division multiplexing) coupler 30 placed at one end of the optical signal transmission cable 41, the optical signal is transmitted from the one end of the optical signal transmission cable 41 to the other end, serial data based on a return video signal from a signal recording and reproducing section 11 are converted into an optical signal, the optical signal is transmitted to the optical signal transmission cable 41 through a two-way WDM coupler 42 placed at the other end of the optical signal transmission cable 41 and transmitted from the other end of the optical signal transmission cable 41 to the one end. |
