PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a butt welding method and joining device contriving enhancement in joining strength of a joining member, and capable of obtaining stable joining quality. SOLUTION: A pair of joining members 2, 3 are arranged in a butting state, both butting ends 2b, 3b are heated, and in the heated and pressurized state, the joining members 2, 3 are relatively rotated around their axis, thereafter, relatively rotated in the reverse direction, then the both butt joining ends 2b, 3b are attached by pressure.
