PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a pig iron casting, by which pig iron for a casting can largely be blended, the fuel cost for melting the pig iron can be reduced and the capability therefor can be improved. SOLUTION: The pig iron for the casting containing >=0.5% Si, <=0.040% P, <=0.020% S and <=0.020% Ti, and in which the degree of saturation in eutectics defined by the following formula 1 lies in the range of 0.9 to 1.1, and the area ratio of cementite in the section of a mold pig iron is <=50% is blended in 50 to 100%, and is dissolved to produce a pig iron casting: the formula 1; the degree of saturation in eutectics = [C]/(4.23-[Si]/3.2); wherein, [C] is the component (wt.%) of carbon in the pig iron, and [Si] is the component (wt.%) of silicon in the pig iron.
