PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a solidified product with high strength having wide applications, large quantity for the applications and utilizable as fine aggregate for concrete, a roadbed material for a road by treating silica-containing mud sludge (mud cake) of building sludge, dredged soil treated turbid water, turbid water generated in a stone crushing plant or a silica-containing byproduct such as a stone powder occurred in the same plant. SOLUTION: In the method for treating silica-containing mud sludge, silica- containing mud sludge and a calcium compound are uniformly mixed to obtain a mud/calcium uniform mixture which is, in turn, subjected to hydrothermal treatment to obtain the solidified product.
