The invention relates to a plug-in connector for an Ethernet connection, consisting of socket (2) and a plug (8) which are substantially RJ45 compatible, wherein the socket (2) has a plug-in area (6) corresponding to the plug (8), several contact studs (4) arranged in line side by side projecting in said area, wherein the lockable plug (8) has several contact pins (32) that are arranged in guide grooves (30) disposed side by side. According to the invention, the socket (2) has two additional contact studs (22,24) for connection to a supply voltage, said additional contact studs being arranged in the plug-in area (6) and spaced in relation to one another and to the contact studs (4) arranged in line side by side. The plug (8) has contact pins (38) corresponding to said additional contact studs (22,24), which are arranged in additional guide grooves (34,36). This makes it possible to obtain a standard plug-in connector for an Ethernet connection that carries not only data but also a supply voltage.
