PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a labor and facilitate work in the case of a setting work and change work of a roll paper sheet to a printing device. SOLUTION: The roll paper setting auxiliary device is provided with a retaining hand 19 for grasping an outer periphery of the roll paper sheet; a roll paper retaining mechanism 13 for detachably grasping the roll paper sheet by opening/closing the retaining hand 19 by an opening/closing operation part 21; a lifting mechanism 14 for lifting the roll paper retaining mechanism 13 to an optional height; and a conveying mechanism 15 for conveying the roll paper retaining mechanism 13 and the lifting mechanism 14 along a floor surface. Accordingly, the roll paper retaining mechanism 13 is moved to a desired position with the lifting mechanism 14 by the conveying mechanism 15 and the retaining hand 19 is lifted to a desired height by the lifting mechanism 14 and is opened/closed by operating the opening/closing operation part 21. Thereby, a labor can be reduced and a work can be facilitated when the roll paper sheet is set to a printing device and is changed.
