TENSION LATCH

A latch incorporates a latch member in the form of a leaf spring which is connected by an overcenter operating lever mechanism to a case mounted to a door for latching engagement with a strike member mounted to another door or frame member. The strike member incorporates guide rails for guiding the latch member into engagement with the strike, and the case includes flanges which cover the shackle of a padlock used to lock the operating lever to the case in a latching position.
