PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a winder for automatically winding a thick sheet such as a plastic foam sheet onto a paper core capable of completing transfer of winding in a short time without deteriorating the line speed of a manufacturing process. SOLUTION: A turret comprises a rotation shaft 41 and two side plates 42A and 42B installed on both ends of it. To shaft holes 43A and 43B provided at mutually corresponding positions in both side plates, two paper core fixing shafts 8A and 8B can be inserted from the outer side inward without reaching 1/2 of span S of the turret at respective tips. These are provided in such a way that constraint relation is generated between the paper core fixing shafts 8A and 8B and the paper core by swelling of the paper core fixing shafts when they are inserted into the paper core. To a specified combination of the paper core and the paper core fixing shaft at a winding position, a paper core rotating drive shaft actuates to rotate the combination to cause winding. When it gets apart from the winding position, the rotation drive shaft stops actuation on it.
