Lining is produced by placing a mat material in a molding tool, and supplying the mold with liquid plastic, which penetrates the mat and takes on the upper mold inner profile : Producing a visible inner lining, comprises placing a mat material (30) in a molding tool, and then supplying liquid plastic to the mold via a flow channel (21). The liquid plastic penetrates through the plastic mat material in the mold. The mat material has holes, and the plastic used is polypropylene, polyethylene or ABS. The mold consists of upper and lower tool sections, and the mat is held tensioned in the mold using a frame. The flow channels feeds into the lower tool and the mat is held on the lower tool. The upper tool has a profiled surface which is used to create the visible surface for the lining.
