PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a lens barrel becomes larger because other parts can not be arranged within the rotational range of a cylindrical cam in the case of driving a lens group by using the cylindrical cam. SOLUTION: This lens barrel is provided with lens holding members 1 and 2 capable of moving in an optical axis direction while holding a lens, a disk type plate cam member 3 rotating at a fixed position centering around an axis parallel with a direction orthogonal to an optical axis and having cam parts 3a and 3b for driving the lens holding member in the optical axis direction, and a motor 5 driving and rotating the member 3.
