PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photopolymerizable composition highly sensitive to not only ultraviolet light but also visible light to infrared light and a recording material excellent in sensitivity and the decolorability of a ground part (a non-image part) and capable of forming a clear high-contrast image. SOLUTION: The photopolymerizable composition contains a polymerizable compound having an ethylenically unsaturated bond, a compound of formula (I) and a radical generating agent capable of generating a radical by interaction with the compound of the formula (I). In the formula (I), R1 is an aliphatic or aromatic group; L1 and L2 are each methine which may have a substituent, when L1 and L2 are each methine having a substituent, the substituents may bond to each other to form an unsaturated aliphatic ring or an unsaturated heterocycle; and Z1 is a group of atoms forming a 5- or 6-membered N- containing heterocycle which may be condensed with an aromatic ring or a heterocycle. |
