PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microscope which enables a user of the microscope to arbitrarily determine whether an image or light is made incident on and is coupled to one or plural microscopic optical paths or is separated and emitted from the optical path or not and in which direction the incidence and coupling or separation and emission are performed in such a case. SOLUTION: This microscope has a basic substance and is provided with at least one microscopic objective lens, at least eyepiece lens and at least one beam splitter in contact with the basic substance or within the basic substance. This beam splitter is disposed in the optical path between the microscopic objective lens and the eyepiece lens. The microscope is of the type to separate and emit a portion of the light from the optical path to the eyepiece lens or to make the image incident on the optical path heading toward the eyepiece lens or to couple the image thereto. The beam splitters (2' and 3) are disposed at supports (4 and 5) which are loadable into a recess (6) of the basic substance together with the beam splitters or are removable from the recess (6).
