PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the structure in a winch type winding device for rug such as artificial lawn and to extend the setting width of a rug. SOLUTION: This device comprises a drum 1 for winding an artificial lawn 7, lateral capstan pulleys 3 connected to both ends of the drum 1, lateral wires 8 wound on each capstan pulley 3, and a wire driving means for sending the wires 8 in the moving direction of the drum 1. The drum 1 unwinds or winds the artificial lawn 7 according to the feeding direction of the wires 8, whereby the artificial lawn 7 is unfold or removed.
