PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an activated carbon fiber for eliminating lower aldehydes, which has large adsorption of lower aldehydes and a high rate of adsorption, and an air cleaning sheet using the fiber. SOLUTION: In the activated carbon fiber where an aromatic amino acid compound is supported, the support amount of the aromatic amino acid compound is 10-40 mass %, and a specific surface area of the activated carbon fiber after support is 300-1,000 m2/g.
