PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize an ultraviolet lamp capable of efficiently generating ozone and capable of diffusing the generated ozone over a wide range without generating a hindrance of an air flow due to a trigger electrode in the case of housing this ultraviolet lamp in a narrow space for use. SOLUTION: This ultraviolet lamp is provided with an airtight container 12 made of the ultraviolet rays transmitting material and provided with a nearly U-shape tubular body 18 and a seal part 20 for sealing openings provided at both ends of the tubular body 18, a pair of discharge electrodes 14 and 14 arranged inside the airtight container 12 at parts near both ends seal parts, the ultraviolet radiation gas filled inside the tubular body 18 of the airtight container 12, and a trigger electrode 16 arranged in the periphery of the airtight container 12. The trigger electrode 16 has a tubular body holding part 34 for holding the tubular body 18 of the airtight container 12 with a pressure contact and a seal part holding part 20 for holding the seal part 20 of the airtight container 12 with a pressure contact. A distance between the trigger electrode 16 and the discharge electrode 14 is formed smaller than a discharge space between the discharge electrodes 14 and 14. The tubular body holding part 34 of the trigger electrode 16 is formed with a opening part 31 and a cutout 33 for air ventilation.
