PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device with which image quality is maintained and image information is transmitted together with image data. SOLUTION: By one performance form of this invention, the image information is buried in images in the form of an 'electronic watermark'. By using an optional one of a plurality of electronic watermark techniques, image processing information is buried in the images. When the images are outputted to the other device, the electronic watermark is performed from the image data and decoded by the device and then output is performed so as to maintain the image quality by utilizing it.
