PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a permanent wave hairdressing method, and a winding unit for permanent wave hairdressing capable of forming a desired hair style by easily twisting hair even if the length of the hair is nonuniform. SOLUTION: The part in the vicinity of the tip part of the hair 21 is inserted so as to obliquely cross a sandwiching part 15 composed of a first projecting bar 13 and a second projecting bar 14 extending in parallel at a prescribed interval from a connecting part 16 for constituting the winding unit 11 for permanent wave hairdressing. When rotating the sandwiching part 15 in this state, a tip part of the hair 21 is wound round the outer periphery of the first projecting bar 13 and second projecting bar 14, and a part between the tip part and a head part 22 is wound up in a spiral shape by specific winding-up force. Thus, by continuously winding the first projecting bar 13 and the second projecting bar 14 in the direction indicated by an arrow, winding-up of the hair 21 advances up to the root of the head part 22, so that the winding-up is completed.
