PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a servo track writer which records servo signals to a magnetic disk medium and can considerably and easily simplify check work and regulation work after exchanging a magnetic head. SOLUTION: The servo track writer has a processing section which reproduces the disk for calibration according to loading of the disk for calibration after the exchange of the magnetic head and performs calibration processing corresponding to the loaded magnetic head from the resultant regenerative signal.
