PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-free type extinguishing ash tray capable of immediately extinguishing cigarette butt charged in a state in which fire is caught and preventing the occurrence of smoke and readily carrying out recovery of cigarette butt, sweeping, maintenance, or the like. SOLUTION: A receptor 10 capable of placing a lid body 11 having a receiving port 12 formed in nearly the center is detachably installed in an exterior body 1 having a charging inlet 2 in the upper part and a gas-jetting means 17 and a controlling circuit 22 for controlling the gas jetting means 17 are installed in the exterior body 1, and when the receptor 10 is attached into the exterior body 1, an incombustible gas such as carbon dioxide in a gas-jetting means 17 is jetted from above to the inside of the receptor 10 and filled in the receptor 10.
