PURPOSE: A torque sensor is provided to achieve improved magnetic characteristics of detection ring by reducing stresses of detection ring and preventing the magnetic signal detected by the detection ring from forming a magnetic path in an axial direction. CONSTITUTION: A torque sensor comprises a driving shaft(22) and a slave shaft(23) connected coaxially through a torsion bar(24) so as to measure the torque of a steering wheel; first, second and third detection rings(25,26,27) arranged at the outer periphery of the driving shaft and the slave shaft; and a sleeve(28) which is press fit into the gap formed between the driving shaft and the second detection ring. A stepped portion is formed between the inner periphery of the second detection ring and the outer periphery of the sleeve which is surface-contacted the inner periphery of the second detection ring.
