PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a server device which can save the user's labor and time to input a URL, etc., again if the user inputs a wrong URL and reports a domain name, a URL, etc., as candidates to be corrected. SOLUTION: This server device 2 acts for inquiring an IP address of a DNS server 3 instead when a client computer 1 accesses a specific site 4 on the Internet. This server device 2 obtains a character string specifying the domain name of the specific site 4 from the client computer 1, inquires the IP address corresponding to the character string of the DNS server 3, retrieves a domain name as a candidate to be corrected as to the character string when the DNS server 3 reports that there is not the IP address, and reports a character string as a candidate to be corrected such as a URL generated according to the domain name as the candidate to be corrected to the client computer 1.
