PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cold cathode fluorescent discharge tube that is improved in luminous efficiency of its fluorescent substance and has a long life and high quality, and is suitable for multi-kind (multi-color) small volume production and for thin tube. SOLUTION: A phosphor fluid dispersion in which phosphor/inorganic bonding material solid is dispersed by PVC at 50-800% is applied on the outer circumference of the ultraviolet radiation lamp made of ultraviolet transmission glass tube, and then by firing this, a phosphor layer is formed. The ultraviolet rays irradiated from the ultraviolet radiation lamp excite the phosphor and make it illuminant.
