The single grip mixer unit (10) comprises a mixer housing (12) and an operating unit (16), which can be set in movement by application of outer force in relation to the mixer housing to regulate the temperature of water which the mixture unit delivers. The mixer unit has inlets for cold and hot water. The inlets have adjustable areas which can be adjusted by an operating mechanism working in conjunction with the operating unit when it is set in movement. The mixer unit incorporates a sprung component, which is tensioned when the operating unit is set in movement past a pre-set position. By freeing the pre-tension forces, the mutual relationship between the areas in the hot and cold water inlets is altered back to the pre-set position when the outer applied forces are unloaded.
