PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heavy oil emulsion fuel fired boiler system, capable of reducing installation space. SOLUTION: In a heavy oil emulsion fuel fired boiler system, provided with a condenser 12, a heater 13, an evaporator 14, etc., for separating heavy oil emulsion fuel 1 into heavy oil 2, light oil 3 and water 4, a boiler 16 burning the heavy oil 2, an NOx removal system 18, a dust removal system 19, a wet SOx removal system 20, etc., performing the innocuous treatment of the exhaust gas 5, generated from the boiler 16 and an oil-water separator 22 separating the light oil 3 and the water 4 separated by the evaporator 14, the mixture of the light oil 3 and the water 4 separated by the evaporator 14 can be used as the atomizing steam of the boiler 16. Thereby, the portion that is used for the atomizing steam of the boiler 16 does not need to be fed into the oil-water separator 22, and the oil-water separator 22 can be miniaturized, as compared with the conventional separators.
