PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel injection control device of a diesel engine capable of reducing a quantity of soot in exhaust gas while suppressing degradation of fuel economy. SOLUTION: The fuel injection control device of the diesel engine includes a fuel injection valve 5 for directly injecting fuel in a combustion chamber 4 of the diesel engine, a main injection control means 36 for controlling main injection injecting fuel from the fuel injection valve at a predetermined time in a periphery of a dead center in a compression stroke, and a post-injection control means 36 for controlling post-injection injecting additional fuel from the fuel injection valve after the main injection. The post-injection control means sets an injection time of the post-injection by referring to a time when a heat generation rate by the main injection is not more than a predetermined value, and in an operating range where the soot generated in combustion by the main injection is more than a predetermined quantity, the post-injection control means increases fuel injection by the post-injection as compared with in the operating range where the quantity of soot is less than the predetermined quantity. |
