PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte solution secondary battery, which retains a high safety despite of its high capacity and output performance. SOLUTION: A cylindrical lithium ion battery 20 has a cleavage valve 11 on a battery cap which is a part of a battery container, the cleavage valve cleaving under a prescribed pressure, and contains an electrode group 6 consisting of wounded positive electrode, negative electrode, and separator, connections for connecting the electrode in the electrode group to each electrode terminal, and a nonaqueous electrolyte solution. An active material for the positive electrode is made of lithium manganate of which the ratio of manganese elution into the nonaqeous electrolyte solution is 5% or less to the standard ratio of manganese lithium within the range where the electrode potential to metal lithium is 4.8 V or more. An active material for the negative electrode is made of graphite, which can occlude and discharge lithium ion by charging and discharging. |
