A moisturizing gel comprising an aqueous mixture of water and a hydrated metallic salt according to U.S. Patent No. 4,865,640 is improved by the addition of preservative to control water release and optionally the addition of nutrients to feed plants and trees. In the preferred embodiment, a combination of preservatives, one acidic, one basic, is used to provide controllable water release. |
